The stone bridge of Kokkoris or Noutsos with its unique arch is situated between the villages Koukouli, Dilofo and Kipoi in Central Zagori, Epirus region, Greece.
The bridge spans the river of Vikos, just where a narrowing in the river by two large rocks takes place.
The bridge is located at a focal point so as to ensure smooth communication between the villages of Zagoria with the commercial center, Ioannina.
It was first built in 1750 with money of Noutsos Kontodimos, a notable person of Zagori, but it had to be repaired or even built from the beginning many times.
In the footsteps of his father, Alexis Noutsos (1762-1822) from the nearby Kapesovo, a notable of Zagori himself with an important position in the court of Ali Pasha, sponsored many times the maintenance of the bridge.
Many people participated in its maintenance, such as the miller Grigoris Kokkoris from whom it took one of its two names.
The bridge is saved in a very good condition today and there is no way you won’t see and admire it since it is situated on the central road for Zagori.
